Meningococcal Vaccine State Law:

Senate Bill 62 effective October 1st, 2013 Requires All newly entering students age 22 years and younger to have a meningitis vaccination within the past five years and at least 10 days prior to participating in any University activity including moving on to campus.

    • Schreiner University Deadlines:
      • Fall Semester: August 1
      • Spring Semester: January 1
        This includes University activities (Athletics, Varsity programs, etc.)
  • All students must submit their shot records showing meningococcal vaccination to health@schreiner.edu or Fax 830-217-3568.

Health Insurance Requirement

All Schreiner students are REQUIRED to be covered under a health care plan.

Nursing students are REQUIRED to be insured under a health care plan and must provide proof to the nursing program administration.

  • Please provide the Administrative Specialist of Student Services with a copy of the front and back of your health insurance card, emailed to health@schreiner.edu.
  • Please call Student Services at 830-792-7491 for any assistance required

This also applies to students who previously attended an institution of higher education and who are enrolling in the same or another institution following a break in enrollment of at least one fall or spring semester. Please show proof of immunization to the Dean Of Students by the deadline. Schreiner University, in accordance with SB62, provides written notice of a student's right to claim exemption from the immunization requirement under certain circumstances and the importance of consulting with a physician about the need for the immunization.
