Description

VONR 1401. FOUNDATIONS OF PROFESSIONAL NURSING CLINICAL

This course applies the foundational concepts of vocational nursing to include the nursing process, safety and quality, ethics, critical thinking, and clinical judgment. The student will develop a foundation for providing holistic, patient-centered care across the lifespan through skills in communication, assessment, vital signs, and activities of daily living. Additional concepts and fundamental skills will include identifying and addressing environmental concerns, patient positioning and transporting, asepsis, sterile technique, medication administration, and intrusive therapies. Concepts and skills learned will address patient care needs in a compassionate, ethical, and safe manner within a variety of settings.
